of the total system biomass in the aeration basin, eliminating
complete washout. The fixed biomass quickly reseeds the
suspended biomass, leading to rapid recovery of treatment.
Hydraulic washout
ENTEX’s attached growth biomass systems help secure biomass in the basin on our media systems. Both our fixed media BioWeb and our moving media BioPortz, offer resistance to hydraulic washouts, since a large portion of the total biomass is fixed on the media and not subject to washout. Plants using Entex systems report rapid recovery from washouts, often in terms of hours.
