Chemicals and Petrochemicals
Chemical and petrochemical facilities face unique challenges with wastewater treatment. With the influent flowing from various parts of the process facility, despite efforts to segregate streams, these wastewater treatment facilities periodically face toxic shock loads.
The typically high COD loads in these plants require biological treatment. The traditional approach has been to provided extended treatment times in an effort to provide sufficient residence time for compounds to break down and be biologically metabolized.
Entex’s submerged fixed biomass systems hold the biomass in the system, and provide thicker biofilms to resist toxicity, and allow the biomass to absorb and slowly break down complex hydrogen-carbon chains. Entex provides two different types of systems to accomplish this: our fixed media BioWeb, and our moving media BioPortz.
