In September 2003 BioWeb was installed in the Port Austin WWTP to achieve better nitrification in their lagoon system. The plant was previously not able to maintain the necessary nitrification in the fall and spring to meet their permitted ammonia levels.
Media was suspended from floating cables and weighted at the bottom to form long sheets crossing the width of the lagoon multiple times.
