Entex Technologies

The wastewater treatment facility at the Kenneth R. Olson Middle School in Tabernacle, NJ needed to be modified to provide enhanced total nitrogen removal. The engineer elected to use Entex BioPortz moving media in the pre-anoxic zone to minimize the space required and to fix the denitrifying biology in the basin under highly variable loading conditions.

Entex provided the complete system, including media, retention screens and a submersible mixer.

The pre-anoxic zone with BioPortz media was started up in the summer of 2009, and continues to operate effectively.
